The preceptorship module attempts to bridge the existing gap between student in class teaching and clinical supervision. While it is expected that students after receiving theoretical input from their lecturers, they should be assigned to an experienced clinical supervisor in this case preceptor who will take them through clinical orientation and the day to day clinical supervision.
In the same way lectures are planned organised and coordinated on daily basis, the preceptor needs to come up with a preceptorship program or work plan that will spell out how the clinical supervision will be executed with the preceptee.
In the following introductory video clip, the module facilitator spells out the overview of the preceptorship module and what will be expected of the participants.
